Ithaa Undersea Restaurant wins 2017 Global Restaurant of the Year Award

Located five metres below the surface of the Indian Ocean, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’s globally applauded restaurant Ithaa is the world’s first undersea restaurant, which offers 180° panoramic views of the vibrant coral gardens surrounding it.

Ithaa, defined as ‘mother of pearl’ in the Maldivian language of Dhivehi, is accented by the use of curved transparent acrylic walls, similar to those used in aquarium attractions. The cuisine offers a true delight and features a distinctive menu showcasing local spices and produce, blended with Western influences, presented in a six-course set dinner menu and a four-course lunch menu featuring lighter fare.

Ithaa celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2015 and has been applauded as the best underwater restaurant in the world, most innovative dining experience and rated as the world’s most beautiful restaurant.
